Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday released the 21st instalment of PM-KISAN, amounting to over ₹18,000 crore to support 9 crore farmers across the country. Lakhs of farmers in Tamil Nadu have also received funds in their accounts, he said while releasing the instalment at the South India Natural Farming Summit at Coimbatore.
The Prime Minister said that under PM-KISAN, ₹4 lakh crore has been directly transferred to the bank accounts of small farmers to meet their various agricultural needs. The Prime Minister said that in the last 11 years, the entire agricultural sector has undergone significant changes. Agricultural exports have nearly doubled, and the government has opened every possible avenue to support farmers in modernising agriculture, he said.
