The price of soybean in Maharashtra is gradually climbing as the State prepares to begin procurement under the Price Support Scheme (PSS) from Saturday. Farmers, traders, and market committees across key producing districts have reported a steady upward trend over the past few days, driven largely by expectations of government procurement and reduced market arrivals.
Soybean prices in several regions—including Hinganghat—fell sharply last month, dropping to as low as ₹500 per quintal. The sudden crash, triggered by excess rains and uncertainty in market demand, left farmers concerned.
