The Tea Trade Association of Cochin (TTAC) has urged the Tea Board to resolve the technical and operational issues associated with its smart digital platform before its full rollout for tea auctions across the country.
The mock auctions conducted so far have highlighted certain issues that need to be addressed, said Anil George Joseph, Chairman, TTAC. The association recommended a series of structured, closed mock auctions involving brokers, buyers, sellers and stakeholders from major tea trading centres.
“Such trials will provide an opportunity to identify, rectify and thoroughly test the system under realistic operating conditions,” he said while addressing the 34th annual general meeting of TTAC.
